Explore the science of sound by creating a simple communication device using cups and string. Dr. Eva explains how sound waves travel and how their properties can be demonstrated with this classic experiment.

I just wanted to share an exciting lesson I conducted thanks to your class last semester. Typically, science at my placement is limited to 30-minute worksheets, but today I took my second graders outside to our 'natural playground' for a hands-on engineering challenge. They had to build a shelter with limited materials and adapt it for wind and rain. The students were fully engaged, making connections to the engineering design process naturally. My supervising teacher praised the activity, and the students expressed how much fun they had, with one even saying, "I didn't know science could be fun!" Thank you for teaching me how to make science enjoyable and meaningful!
